The truth is, Oliver & June started as a way for me to connect all of the things I love -- healthy food, fashion, and all-around pretty things. Little bits and bobs of things that make me happy, if you will. I told myself I would stay true to me. This is a place where I can explore the things I care about without trying to impress anyone. That's why once it felt like a chore, another thing on my to-do list when I got home from a frustrating day at work, it was time for a break. But, I always felt guilty when I would think about my sad little blog going unwritten, unread, and unloved. So, for 2014 I have re-evaluated the things that make me happy, and this is absolutely one of them. Whether anyone reads it or not isn't of concern.
With a new year almost always comes new goals. I am not one to make a large list of New Year's resolutions. Let's be honest: I will never be that person who goes to the gym on a daily basis, and you won't catch me going on any sort of fad "diet". So why would I fool myself into thinking that would ever be me? Aside from the typical "resolutions", I think almost everyone has a similar set of goals in mind. This list I pinned last week pretty much sums it up beautifully.
I am happy to report that yesterday I made some {major} headway in the purging of the unnecessary and decreasing of the clutter. It is amazing how much stuff you accumulate in such a short amount of time. Honestly, how many things can a 24 year old really have? It's absurd. One closet, down. One bag of clothes, filled and ready to be donated. It feels so good.
So, I raise my glass of champs to you and cheers to the start of a wonderful new year!
